Found an issue I just can’t understand.
Inside the EEro App it shows a WAN IP address totally different from the standard IP address. This allow Local viewing of your Plex Server but not a remote access.
I tried Double Nating and all I could. Nothing. I think it is another way to lock the systems off the WAN system.
If anyone has an answer I would like to know what to do. Not a problem inside my house but it sucks outside.
Can you show the first two octets of the WAN IP address shown in the Eero app? It may be that your ISP has converted you to CG-NAT (more and more common). If they use the standardized range for CG-NAT, it will be somewhere in the range 100.64.0.0 to 100.127.255.255. It not being in that range doesn’t necessarily rule out CG-NAT, but it’s a place to start.
Also, does the address shown by the Eero app for its WAN IP match what is shown at canyouseeme.org?
It is showing 100.70.240.???
With a mask of 255.255.262.0
The Whatismyip comes up to 57.138.123.??
The EERO shows the below 100
I moved the EERO out and used an Archer C54 and got the same IP.
Just so you know,.. the Modem is a fiber optic modem connected to the EERO.
I also looked at the EERO and it was getting very hot so I left the Archer C54 in place.
One thing I did notice on the EERO is it was using IPV6 and the Archer was using IPV4 until I turned the IPV6 on. A reboot showed no big change. Probably due to being connected via Cat 6,
Was thinking I could try to convert to static but I didn’t want to try it yet. I was even looking into Hotspot my phone to see if it would connect again.
I am almost sure that all connections have ceased due to the https over http debate.
You’re in a double-NAT configuration, this one almost certainly cause by your ISP (by using CG-NAT). CG-NAT is an intentional double-NAT imposed by ISPs to mitigate IPv4 address “starvation.”
Plex doesn’t fully support IPv6 at this time, so that’s not a solution for you, unfortunately. You could contact your ISP and confirm that they’re employing CG-NAT; in such cases many ISPs provide the option for you to pay extra for a publicly routable IPv4 address.
Are you certain it’s just a modem and not a router itself?
The IPV4 on the archer is the same as the Modem IP address.. That seems to be the reason I can’t see the server remotely.

Doesn’t make a big big deal anymore. I made the Plex server portable and now I bring it with me.
