EPG and scheduling Recurring Sports Events

Hey, so after the EPG change, the ability to schedule recurring sports events (aka games with a specific team) has gone away. Any word on whether this is permanent (in which case are you kidding me?) or if you are working on tweaking the metadata so that we can schedule our local teams games without having to record every single baseball game on TV, because that will fill my storage in a few days, plus you know tuners being busy all the time.

On FIOS with HDHomeRun Prime in Washington DC in case it is needed to look into the metadata provided for the MASN, MASN2 and Fox Networks which air the games.

This is fixed! If you refresh your guide you should then be able to select by team.

Thanks, verified after update and refresh, this is back to normal.

Can the team look into individually naming formula 1 practice sessions again? Not the hijack the thread, but the first practice (fp1) will record, but it will only say “belgian grand prix practice” therefore skipping fp2 and fp3 since it thinks it’s already recorded.

It worked prior to the EPG update if that helps.

I’ll see what I can do @pghhome can you give me a provider/region and channel name that I can reference?

Thank you so much! Fios/Pittsburgh Pennsylvania (15222).

Channels are all espn. Espn2 (574), espnu (573), espn news (572), the Belgian gp starting Thursday is a perfect example.

So a little update on this, I am seeing some really odd behavior from the DVR with the updated info for teams based scheduling.
1: Despite the recurring recordings has been prioritized as no 1 in the overall recordings list it did not record the game last night from MASN during the live airing (plenty of tuners free during)
2: This morning I am seeing this really odd look in the DVR calendar:

Looks like it recording three versions and claiming there already is a recording in the library (likely from last night’s live event) now being presented as if it is being recorded now as well.

All in all there is one tuner i use right now and it looks like it is recording the re-airing of the game this morning , likely because they are marked as “new” in the EPG despite being a re-airing.

@FunkierAWill I’m having a similar issue, however my DVR does catch the live airing - but like your problem, DVR proceeds to record the re-airings the next morning. Recording is configured as “new airings only”.

So I just looked into this and it does appear that the full slate of Belgian Grand Prix programming scheduled correctly when selecting record “All Formula One Racing Events”. Regardless of naming conventions the scheduler utilizes unique program IDs to identify individual events and schedule accordingly. I expect these to record as expected, but if you find that the second one fails then definitely grab logs immediately after and post them here.

You looking into the not-new markings of not-live baseball events as we highlighted yesterday as well?

Yes, can you tell me if these were all MASN or if it was a mix of different channels?

Yep all MASN, same entry it looked like on my end, thanks!

Correct, it functioned correctly. Thank you!

So qualifying today entirely disappeared off my schedule and didn’t record for the Italian gp, and none of my mlb recordings are working, though it shows every event (replays) when it is set to new airings only.
