This new release with the updated EPG is awful. Considering we are paying for this, I’m not happy at all.
Channel 13 shows Channel 4, on Freeview OTA Wales UK it shows as E4. Many channels showing ‘BBC1 Programming, BBC2 programming etc etc’. Absolutely useless and this is basic stuff for testing before release.
Channel 5 does have an EPG for me as well, but it is so poor that I don’t how it got into the code. I think Plex are using Hermione Granger’s Time-Turner for the EPG. Here is an example
10:30-11:30 To Be Announced
10:45-11:15 Friends S8 E8
11:15-11:45 Friends S8 E9
11:30-12:00 Friends S8 E8
11:45-12:15 Friends S8 E10
12.00-12:30 Friends S8 E9
12:15-12:40 Friends S8 E11
At one point Channel 5 is broadcasting 3 programmes simultaneously on the same channel.
At least you get updates, with he change away from Gracenote (that from what I can see has been painful for many) they killed the feature in Australia.
I have to agree, in the UK we still get updates, completely rubbish updates at the moment, but I have no idea why Plex are not still offering an EPG in Australia, instead of asking people to pay a subscription to continue with an EPG after tomorrow.
Yeah - not great on the EPG “upgrade” in 1.16.1. I’m using the Freeview Cambridgeshire OTA Bradcast EPG which, for example, has Northern Ireland listings for BBC 2 HD. Top Gear doesn’t have the New flag set for new episodes, and Grand Designs has the New flag set for EVERY episode, and they are all repeats. All this worked flawlessly in 1.16.0, so it’s a big disappointment.
This new EPG is GARBAGE. It won’t download anything for me anymore. I have 0 EPG data for tomorrow or any day in the future. I have deleted the DVR and reset it up, tried refreshing, ect.
I am so fed up with Plex TV being complete garbage on my FireTVs that I am switching to Channels DVR.
Please revert back to Gracenote for the next couple of months for the EPG, and do a lot of internal testing before you switch back to Powered by Plex, which does not work at the moment, and needs a lot of testing before it may work as well as Gracenote
