It appears that BBC changed the episode ordering and TheTVDB changed theirs to match but whatever cache Plex is using isn’t updated.
I have done the ‘plex dance’ and also manually cleared the caches in %appdata%. Anyone have any additional suggestions shy of me uninstalling and re-installing plex?
In there, grab the line ‘Local Media Assets’ with your mouse and drag it downwards, so it ends up being at the bottom of the stack of active agents.
Repeat the same under
Settings - Server - Agents - Shows - TheMovieDatabase
Settings - Server - Agents - Movies - Plex Movie
Settings - Server - Agents - Movies - TheMovieDatabase
Thanks OttoKerner, that actually fixed it - but now I am curious as to why. I rolled the settings back and refreshed the metadata on the file and its not reverted back to the old info. I’d like to leave Local Media Assets at the top if possible as I have some custom series posters that I enjoy. Can you elaborate on what was breaking so i can adjust myself going forward?
and I appreciate that, but I performed that step before and it did not yield the results I was looking for.
What I mean is, why did I have to change the order of my agents and then do the plex dance, and clear the local cache? Why would JUST clearing the local cache not be enough?
I think you need to perform the Plex Dance whenever you need a structural change in your library. ( In this case: episodes swapping places)
Metadata refresh will only affect metadata which have no structural effect (e.g posters or descriptions)
