Episode Posters completely wrong

Server Version#: 1.32.6.7557
Player Version#:
Trash Truck (2020)
Episode posters are bad/completely wrong.
For example, S01E03 is from S01E02.
S01E04 should be the poster for S01E03, same with S01E05 should be for S01E04 etc.

Is there a way I can help fix this from a public site? I’m happy to help the public community as these are blatantly wrong and maybe not a popular show.

Yes, you can help  They are all coming from → Trash Truck (TV Series 2020-2021) — The Movie Database (TMDB).

I’d suggest taking a look at Watch Trash Truck | Netflix Official Site and see if you can grab good thumbnails from there, then once uploaded to tmdb up-vote the new ones and down-vote the other ones. It then takes 48-72hrs for those changes to make their way to plex.

BTW… I’m not familiar with the show myself but looking at the other metadata at tmdb it might need updating as it does not match what is at Netflix. Episode titles, summaries etc… I’m not sure if this originally aired on Netflix so maybe even raise a content issue request at tmdb for a moderator to take a look.

I updated them about 48 hours ago, nothing yet.

Could you help explain why:

is not showing up correctly for me? doesn’t have a poster at all and it used to…don’t know how it got removed - now it’s a random still.
I’m using plex movie…anyway to tell where it’s getting the data? the other info is ok, it’s just the poster. I left a comment on the big thread too:

I see no recent updates for this show https://www.themoviedb.org/tv/112442-trash-truck/changes?filter_key=key&filter=images. Are you sure you did upload them correctly ?

According to Once Upon a Time in the West metadata - #4 by dane22 plex needed to remove some artwork due to legal requirements. I would (always) recommend using local asset artwork for your media → https://support.plex.tv/articles/200220677-local-media-assets-movies. That way you can fully control the artwork and you are not reliant on plex for it.

I’ve the same for Notorious.

If I edit the movie there are no posters listed.

Probably caught up in legal the same as Once Upon a Time in the West.

I downloaded a poster from TMDB and added it to the folder with the movie.

I uploaded/fixed for season 1 backdrops.
Not sure why they didn’t pop up in the history - am I uploading to the wrong spot/editing incorrectly?

Ah, I see it now. Yes its uploaded correctly to tmdb. Have your force refreshed the metadata of the show within plex so it downloads any new data ?

If you have then its likely its just has not made its way into the back-end plex cache yet. This can take 48/72 hours but I have seen it take longer. Keep an eye here → https://watch.plex.tv/en-GB/show/trash-truck/season/1/episode/1, once you see it updated there it should then make its way into your local plex server.

Thank you, I’ll keep a look out at watch.plex.tv - good point.

I’ve been trying to avoid that as it would make my file system much more verbose (is that the right word?).
Perhaps, I’ll have to do it for one offs and I’ll move to a separate folder (like I do for some with extras).
But for the most part, I have all my movies in a flat folder (mkv with embedded srt).

It’s a shame though, because using the old way (via tmdb) we get posters just fine. So this is a knock against using plex’s agent and seems they can’t do anything about it? (legally)

Yes, its certainly a fair amount of up front work but once done its done forever and you can be 100% sure the artwork will be right and will not change.

I just took it in small junks. Couple of shows or movies each day until it was finished.

BTW… Your episode thumbnail is updated at plex now some hopefully a refresh on your local plex server will pick it up.

I noticed, thanks. took about 5 days.

I may just do it for ones that are legally requested to be taken down from plex. for now I just reverted to using tmdb agent and haven’t thought about it. the annoying thing is the top right will have the up arrow saying to upgrade the library agent (which usually signals to me a new PMS version).
