Episode proper playback in order

I am not sure that my title is clear enough. I have noticed this behaviour for some time now and I consider it a bug.

While playing back episodes that may be 2 in one file (ie. S01E01-E02), if I start from E01 and play it to its completion (end of E02) the next episode that is presented is E02 not E03 which in my mind it should be. I have to back out to the home menu to see the on deck portion of the screen in which it will have properly updated the episode to show that E03 is next up.

The clients I use that have this behaviour are Android TV, Android, Windows and Roku with a Windows server verion 1.19.5.3035 on Windows 10 64 bit profession 24GB Ram AMD FX8120 processor.

There’s a feature suggestion to address this behavior.

I only got a few episodes where I had to deal with that. With those I’ve kind of bypassed the issue by splitting the files or simply leaving a gap (manually twisting the metadata to make it clear that file covers the “gap”).

The biggest point is that you should not have to manipulate anything for it to properly register the play status/next episode queue.

I have quite a few series that I would have to do this to for a work around for something that really should not be an issue.

This was was implemented back in November or December of 2019. One of the last few updated broke it.
