Episode Title Not Loading Even With Matched Show

Hi all,

I have done my best to look into this issue and although many people seem to have been experiencing the same thing, I cannot seem to fix it with everything that I have looked up.

The only thing that has changed for me is my shift from Windows to Unraid and it is around this time that the issue has popped up for me.

When a new show is added, Plex will match the show, posters, metadata, ratings…big tick there!

The issue is when it comes to episode titles and metadata. It will remain on ‘Episode 1’ with nothing loaded until I hit the Refresh Metadata option at the show level. On Windows, it always grabbed the episode name and metadata on import no problem.

I have changed the naming schema multiple times to remedy this, to no avail. From the shorter, cleaner option listed in the Plex guide to the longer, noisier one in trash guides.

From:
{Series TitleYear} - S{season:00}E{episode:00} - {Episode CleanTitle}

To:
{Series TitleYear} - S{season:00}E{episode:00} - {Episode CleanTitle} [{Custom Formats }{Quality Full}]{[MediaInfo VideoDynamicRangeType]}{[Mediainfo AudioCodec}{ Mediainfo AudioChannels]}{[MediaInfo VideoCodec]}{-Release Group}

Local assets and metadata are also off.

I have done the Plex Dance each time I have renamed the episodes. I tried deleting the entire library and adding from scratch and I cannot seem to get this working.

Any help would be appreciated.

Are you using .plexmatch files by any chance?

I remember some people reporting that this can sometimes cause this issue.

I think it’s something you can configure Sonarr to create for you. Disable that option and delete the .plexmatch files if you’re not using this functionality.

I found the setting under metadata. Removed the option, tested and is working as intended.
