Error Acquiring Certificate after Password Reset

@fx254

I see a new container 2 minutes ago.
Did you create a new one?

@mjt_null_net

Your certificate was stuck “Generating”
I reset it.
It is now “Generated” and ready.

Restart your server

Yes. I try to delete the server on app.plex.tv following the procedure What if Your Plex Account Requires a Password Reset? | Plex Support

I claimed again the pms and now i have access both Web an IOS Apps !

I claimed first the server during the www.plex.tv incident. Maybe that caused the “wrong” registration to my plex account ?

Thanks for the help

  1. Yes
  2. Yes
  3. Yes
  4. Janus (Docker / Ubuntu 20.04.4 LTS)

Thank you!

Maybe that could help someone. I reclaim my pms once more. I followed What if Your Plex Account Requires a Password Reset? | Plex Support

  1. Connect app.plex.tv and open the authorized devices in settings :
    https://app.plex.tv/desktop/#!/settings/devices/pms

  2. Remove the server
    image

  3. Reclaim the server (Sign In/Claim Your Plex Media Server in What if Your Plex Account Requires a Password Reset? | Plex Support)

I use docker and i get the key here : Claim | Plex then i paste it to my configuration (docker-compose) and recreate the container.

Now everything sounds good !

Also getting this error after password reset and logout.
CERT: Error acquiring new certificate: Failed to upload CSR: 429, <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>

I reclaimed my server but it showing as unable to connect to Plex securely.

Can you please reset mine as well?

not intentionally. have tried a number of times to reclaim it by signing it back in with no luck. I’m signed in, but the server still doesn’t appear. When I do go through the Claim It process I get a 401 despite also going through the Preferences.xml route. No idea why it’s spitting chips trying to show up again.

Note: I can still get to it on my internal network via my iPad - but won’t appear anywhere else.

I appear to be in the same boat here.

Could I get in the queue for a certificate reset? :upside_down_face:
Server: Pegasus

@Thalasi

  1. I reset the certificate. It was stuck “Generating”
  2. Stop the server
  3. Wait 2 minutes
  4. Start the server
  5. Due to load on plex.tv, give it a couple extra minutes to start.

I can see the server has been removed from the account so no issues there.

Are you on the same subnet as the server
and are you accessing it in a new browser tab with http://lan.ip.of.server:32400/web ?

@liampowell

I’ve fixed your certificate.

Restart the server

Hello - same issue here, 500 errors and 429s after password reset. ANy chance I can get an assist?

@zoomequipd

Please stop the server. I’m resetting your certificate now.

@zoomequipd

Please restart the server now. Please give it time to get the certificate. Plex.tv is busy at the moment.

Back in business! Thanks Chuck!

I’m having the same issue as everyone else but having no luck after trying all the suggested fixes.

I am using a QNAP. Using SSH, when I enter the claim code along with the curl command I get the following:

Unauthorized

401 Unauthorized

I have tried obtaining another claim code and claiming it straight away. Have reinstalled Plex Media Server, stopped and restarted Plex Media Server and reset my QNAP several times.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks in advance

I have also tried editing the preferences.xml and removing the suggested items and restarting the server

Hi, I am also seeing the error acquiring new cert error in my logs due to api rate limit exceeded

Perfect, that fixes it for me. Thank you
