Had the same issue myself, just glad I’m not the only one. Went crazy uninstalling, reinstalling, deleting whatever data I could in the apps, messing with permissions on the external drive Plex is pointed to, nothing worked. The mentioned workaround for Movies did indeed fix that library for me but there is no similar option for TV and so for now I’m stuck having that as an ‘other video’ library and manually adding episodes into collections as a rudimentary form of show/season organization. Hope a fix comes soon!
Heh, figures that I finally get the urge to try and move from Plex on my server to the Shield so I can try the x265 transcoder, and they break it the very same day. 
Tagging in so I can see any updates.
Has anyone from Plex acknowleded this is an issue yet?
This is currently making Plex unusable, as I reloaded my whole server to see if it fixes the problem, but now I’m unable to add any content because it says nothing can be found.
Please fix soon.

exactly the same issue here. Wont scan any video media, either locally or on a network share. Will still scan audio files tho
Same issue with my nVidia Shield (1.13.4.5271) after I updated last night. No video files appear to be scanning.
Just a simple reply with “We’re aware of the issue & are looking into it” would be nice right about now.

I agree. All Plex Pass users deserves a quick answer. That’s my opinion as well

Do you know how many times you did factory reset? Quickly fix it.
That’s not what I meant. Being Plex Pass sub to support Plex & have perks is cool & all. But, Whether your Plex Pass or not & have a issue that’s out of your control, & is all on their side, The very least they can do is acknowledge the issue here & let us know that their aware of it… We have no idea if Plex is aware of this right now because no one has responded to any of these threads that have this issue…

Hopefully the devs will be aware ASAP. But as a paying customer (lifetime). I think the support should be better/quicker.

Having the same issue here, unboxed my shield yesterday and was up till 1 trying to figure out what was wrong with the whole setup. Drove me crazy, changing the scanner helped but this should really should be fixed soon.

Just to post to say that I have the exact same issue than all the good folks on this thread.
Nvidia Shield, and since yesterday update impossible to scan TV Show and Movies only work if forcing “video scan”.

Same issue here… stayed up till 330 am before just giving up. Factory reset shield and even formatted the external drive. Hopefully they fix this.
I’ve sent a message to one of the devs … Hopefully it speeds up things a bit

I do hope it gets things fixed. In the meantime, I’ve resorted to using a laptop as a dedicated server. But would be nice to just put it all in the Shield.

How do you put the plex server of the shield tv on an old version?
