Sorry, just being inpatient. When are you hoping to release 0.4.0, as keen to have the ability to fast forward and rewind.
I would say that we're about 70% of the upstream merge process now. it will take at least another week .. maybe two i would say.
And also there might be another experimental before 0.4.0, because a bunch of things have changed since 9.9.20 :)
I know you guys are impatient but we really need to complete that one properly if we want to move on :)
As far as the FFW / REW fix, you might be disappointed. I had made a fix for that one and it was working ok on low speeds up to like 8X. At higher FFW / REW speeds video playback would hangup :(
Also this issue has been fixed in Gotham and is working wonderfully on the betas that i have tried. They changed a lot of things in there to do so.
In order not to have troubles with that incoming merge, i reverted that fix :(
I think that the arrow navigation is already pretty good if you wanna move fwd / rew, i'd like the FFW / REW keys to work, but if i wanted to make that fix complete i should rework it and try to understand why it wont work over 8X.
To be honest this is not in my top priority list right now, we really need to complete this merge as Gotham Beta has been released already and that's where the real FWD / REW Fix will come from :)

So will there still be up to 8x FWD / REW in the next release? It’s just we have nothing in the current release, so anything will be better, as my Mrs has a habit of asking questions and then we miss something and can’t go back 
I might install the latest beta and give it a try…
As i said, I had made a fix but reverted it. so as of now if we'd make a beta there wouldnt be any FFW / REV.
I'm not sure i'll have time to relook into this before next release, but if i have some i might check it, knowing that i'll have to revert it once we merge with gotham.
Though I still don't understand when you say that you have nothing... big / small jumps (fwd & Rev) are already working and are way more convenient imho than FWD / REW functions. as far as i recall they allow you to jump 30s / 10 mins in the movie.
Maybe you should check your remote mapping to use these :)

FFW and RW up to 8x would be nice if you could implement it.
The plus 30 secs and 10 mins works fine atm on the stable release.
But if the FFW and RW is going to be a lot of hassle and the upcoming gotham works up to 32x perfectly don't worry.
