I currently have .srt files for all of my movies. These files are located within the same folder and match the movie file name exactly (ex. Flash Gordon (1980).eng.srt). FYI: The file extension (.srt) is currently hidden under the folder options.
The subtitles are properly listed as English - External SRT when I enable them during a movie, but only the chapter markers are being displayed on screen - not the actual subtitles (ex. “Chapter 3”).
Should I change the file name from “.eng.srt” to “.en.srt”? Does removing the “G” do anything?
Any and all suggestions on how to fix this would be appreciated. Thank you!

Any potential updates to this? I’d rather not transcode simply for subtitles, especially considering the subtitles appear the way I mention below (italicized and elongated).
I tried doing the following changes and it didn’t work / show up.
MovieName.srt, MovieName.en.srt, MovieName.eng.srt all failed to work.
The only way I can successfully show subtitles is by selecting “Always” for Burn-In Subtitles under the Nvidia Shield Plex Settings. However, this of course transcodes everything and puts pressure on the Shield CPU.
Unfortunately, even with this “fix,” the subtitles then have an italic and elongated appearance. It’s tough to read. I know this only happens on the Shield, because the subtitles display normally on any other device.
