Extremely Slow Connection for ONLY Plex

  1. I have my router configured to accept direct remote connections with the server
  2. I have 800Mbps DL with 400Mbps UL Connection
  3. I use Kodi/VLC for stream smooth as comparison
  4. Speed test on all devices with WiFi is 200Mbps DL 150Mbps UL.
  5. Wired Connection 90% of subscription speed.
  6. Kodi/VLC on any devices smooth streaming up to 1080p original quality (no matter wired or WiFi).
  7. Plex on any devices (no matter wired or WIFi) buffering and only stable at 480p and below.
  8. My media are all hosted in 10Gbps capable seedboxes. Hence their upload speeds are no in question. And I have verified that.

I can conclude the problem is only isolated to plex. My question is WHY?

I really need anyone’s help please. I love plex ans I don’t want to have to move away from it. If I posted this at the wrong forum please re-direct. I really need this help. I will clarify anyway possible.

Forgive me for my ignorance. I apologise. How is this related to my issue. Plex shows my connections is secure with a green lock symbol, and it does indicate that it’s on remote. My server is on a seed box in another geographical region.

Is the Plex server on a seedbox or is the Plex server local and only the media are hosted on the seedbox(es)?

If its the former, then indeed this doesn’t seem to be your issue.
Your post originally read to me as if it is the latter.

Apologies for not making it clearer.

  1. My files are held on a seed box server.
  2. My server is also hosted on the said same server
  3. I’m using the plex player to stream over.
