F2-210 no files found

Server Version#: 3.104.2
Player Version#: N/A

I’m a long time Plex Server user on PC and have just switched to a dedicated NAS drive.

When I add a library (movies, tv shows or music) the file browser allows me to select the correct folder, and browsing a couple of levels lower seems to confirm that Plex is able to see all the way through the directory structure, but Plex always reports “there are no items in this folder”

It feels like a permissions problem, but if that was the case I wouldn’t expect Plex to be able to see the media files when I browse to them when adding the folder.

Plex in the PC, using the same attached USB Drive has been working fine for a couple of years, so I don’t think its a problem with the folder structure either.

I can see other people may have had similar problems, but there doesn’t seem to have been any resolution posted…

any help?!?!

I hate replying to my own posts.

But after 2 days of trying and failing to get this to work, I think I figured it out.

I needed to allow “all users” access to the USB Drive. That on its own didn’t help, but as a final act of desperation, I reset the Plex Server installation, and installed it again from scratch. Somehow reinstalling it, after setting the user access appears to have done the trick.

Hi, please click “Reset” and enable plex and enter again. it shall be ok.
