Last night subtitle download started to give error ‘Failed to download subtitle’. I was watching series and it was working just fine and then just started giving this error. No changes were made to setup. I tried to restart server and player, no help. I have account for opensubtitles and I have also put this login information to Plex.
I have the same problem, started after the latest update. I think it might have something to do with the permissions changes.

Investigating further, the server is failing with a 500 error … usually a problem with the server code crashing in fun and unexpected ways:

Same thing happens on a server running on OSX with local files.

I suspect the problem is with a remote server, not the media server.
I did not upgrade anything and the subtitle download went from working to not working over the last couple of days.
I did upgrade to see if it helped. It didn’t.

It’s not a feature I use very often, but I was trying to find a missing subtitle file for a movie at the weekend and it was failing. Tried some other random movies in my library and they were all failing.
I have the same problem, started after the latest update.
If I’m trying to upload a subtitle manually some strange ?japanese? name will be displayed instead of the “english” name AND still no subtitle displayed at all.
