Failed to download subtitle

Is there a fix for downloading subtitles now?

I haven’t seen anything besides manually downloading the file and naming it correctly like I did back in November. In my case I started jellyfin service with the same media as Plex and jellyfin was able to get subtitles and images easier along with being free to stream in the same network on phones and TVs. I haven’t been impressed with plex. Might be different if you pay for it but that seems to be against plexs foundation.

The same happened to me suddenly after the last PMS update (on Synology). Judging by the age of this thread it’s not related to this version so I’m not sure if there’s a link, all I can say is that it worked fine a few days ago.

I am a bit reluctant to apply @fros91 ā€˜s solution, has anyone else tried it? did it solve the probem 100%?

The thing is, I’ve made a lot of adjustements to my libraries. If I recreate them from scratch, I will lose them…

I bit the bullet and went ahead. Subtitles download works again, yay!

But as expected I lost all my library customizations… be warned.

If your database is corrupted, it has more or less become useless in any case.

Read my post.

This just started to happen for me after I had to restore the databases. I followed your steps but you will lose all the data about what you have watched it etc. However after the restart of the plex media server. I waited a while then I shut it down again. Then I renamed the old database back again and restarted and I could download subtitles again and you don’t lose what you have watched etc.

I have been for the last week or so. not sure exactly how long though. Very frustrating. No matter what I did with the media Agent, I could not get it to work.

Anyone have any idea?
