Failed to update server shares

I’m getting that… but i didn’t joint an other Home. Nevertheless: not reverting the lost home is okay (even it doesn’t look lost: it’s still listed and Home-users still connecting successfully…) - can i clean/delete all home users and start a new home - adding all of them again?

I don’t understand what you are hoping to achieve by that?

Seems we have a misunderstanding here.
My Plex looks fine: i have a home with 13 users in my home plus 18 friends.
In the past days several times my shared libraries have been automatically unshared. I’ve tried to re-add them - which does only work “some at a time” and then i have to wait. It happened meanwhile 3 times that the libraries are unshared again.
This isn’t at all satisfying… so I’m looking for a way to get a stable user management back (home and friends).
My guessing is that there is somewhere a “bug/glitch” in my user-management - delete and recreating them could be a way to fix it, isn’t?

I can see that you were several times blocked due to too many requests. Normally, this only happens upon sign-in attempts.
Are you using some 3rd party app/script which uses your Plex username and password?

No - I’m using the Plex app (via TestFlight latest version).
It seems i’ve been blocked when i starting to re-share the libraries (as mentioned before). This is the initial topic of this thread.
Do you see the blocking due to the “establishing sharing activities” - or do you see people try to login with my account but wrong password (hackers? brute-force-attack?)

No, all activity is only from one IP. So this is not someone else trying to get into your account. It is all activitiy from you (or more like: your home network).

I have enquired about the real cause of the block. I myself cannot see that much detail info.
But this being the holiday season, it may unfortunately take a while.

Can you try and use the web app instead of the alpha iOS app? app.plex.tv

Hi Otto
Seems - since i stopped the 2nd instance of my Plex server (which was started by accident) it seems the issue is solved.
I’ve added slowly most of the shares again… and for now they stay.

As the 2nd instance was a (not yet finished) clone of the currently running server - and you mentioned all the accesses have been from my IP - i have the impression it caused all the trouble…

I´ll keep you posted if the issue comes back.
Thanks for your help
Kind regards
Thorsten

A perfect “clone”? i.e. you also duplicated the preferences.xml/registry settings?
Then major weirdness is to be expected, because the two instances are sharing identical machine ID’s.

how to handle this.
