Failed to Update Server Shares

Server Version#: Version 1.25.6.5577
Player Version#: 8.30.2.31202 (c9b75f7a), but issue is on ANY player

Hello,

I share my server with around 75 individuals. My computer crashed yesterday, forcing me to re-install Windows, and obviously, re-install the Plex server. Luckily, Windows saved my Plex Database and the Program Files folder for Plex. So after I re-installed Plex, I copied those folders over to my new install location. The server was able to pull up the old, pre-existing database just fine, and it located and saw all my media on my NAS. However, I have only been able to add 3/4 of my users back to my shared user section. If I attempt to add anyone else, it says “Failed to Update Server Shares.” No matter how long I wait, it gives me this message. I believe Plex thinks I have gone over the 100 user limit because of reinstalling the server but using the old database files. I have not. I am currently only sharing to around 45 people and am prevented from sharing to more. I am unable to share with people because of a bug on the Plex end of things, I believe, rather than this being a local issue on my computer/server. I think need this limit cleared out on the Plex side of things. Any ideas? Suggestions?

There are several threads on this in the forum (Search for “Failed to Update Server Shares”).

It appears there is a limit on the number of shares per day.

Unfortunately, I did not see a thread stating the exact limit, only to wait 24 hours before issuing additional invitations.

See this thread: “Failed to update server shares.” when attempting to add remote users
