I am running Plex from my Netgear Router Current Plex version 1.19.5.3112-b23ab3896 Sep 29, 2020
I tried to add my friend to share my library. It all works fine up until he accepts it and then the sharing is disabled. When I try to re-enable the sharing I get this message “Failed to update server shares”
Please help.
I have ~90 users that I share with, so sharing new libraries is an absolute, MFing nightmare because Plex refuses to make a tool that will mass change your users’ permissions. It’s been asked for 100s of times in the forums, so I know it’s highly desired; I’m just not sure why NOT making one benefits Plex. I’m wondering if it helps them to push their own content? Idk. Anyhow, another part of that BS is that they limit you on how many people’s permissions you can change per some arbitrary unit of time that they won’t disclose.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m very grateful for all that my lifetime subscription gave me. I’ve been cable free for like a decade. I just wish I could pay more for the use of a mass editing tool or something like that. Maybe it’ll come out eventually…
