Fake Dolby Vision (profile 7)

Hi,
I have multiple dolby vision profile 7 files and Plex on my Apple TV seems to play them as a fake dolby vision. Indeed my TV displays the dolby vision popup while the Apple TV is not compatible with dolby vision profile 7. Is this a normal behavior? Additionally, due to this “fake” dolby vision the darks are off like grey sometimes or too dark sometimes. Would it be possible to fallback into using the HDR fallback layer when the player cannot read dolby vision profile 7? Thanks for your help

Profile7 is a disc format, not a streaming format. You are better off getting streaming compatible video files.

It is falling back to the HDR layer. Your TV just probably doesn’t have the dynamic range to display it well.
