Server Version#: 1.26.2.5797 (Synology)
Player Version#: Latest Tizen available
Just wanted to give you HUGE credit for the latest version of the Samsung Tizen app. This has been pretty bad/laggy over the last years, but the latest version is flawless. No Lag, even on my older TVs. It just works perfectly, even in full HD. Great job, took a while, but well worth waiting for.
Server Version#: 1.26.2.5797
Player Version#: 5.38.1
I disagree on mine NU8000. Though it’s an improvement made it usable than it was, it’s still not as smooth as it was back then. If you compare it to Netflix app how smooth it is it’s quite far from it.
I’m not having that kind of luck, since the new version. I’ve had issues getting 1080p movies to play only on my Sumsung-Tizen TV. My Roku TV works fine.
I completely disagree. Over half of my movie library cannot be played back after recent updates to either the Plex Server or the App on the TV.
2018 Samsung QN65Q8FNB.
All latest firmware and plex updates.
Browsing TV shows since a recent update takes 5-10 seconds to open the show details. Even when exiting and trying to change to a different show.
Cannot play back over half my movie library that has DTS Audio that worked flawlessly before. Something about Direct Play and Direct Stream disabled by Setting which is not true. Also complains about DCA Codec.
I am not suddenly encountering a Stream limit of 30 on shows that previously worked flawlessly.
Web and Chrome Cast players work flawlessly
Not hijacking your thread, just providing feed back that its not all roses out there. Sure the App cosmetically looks nice and I agree that it looks better.
TV Firmware 1320
Plex App version 5.32.1 from April 7/2022
– What I find interesting is that this is the version listed in the TV app install menu but inside the Plex App it is listed as 5.38.1…
Ok, very strange that you all are having problems. I have had problems with my Tizen Plex version since I bought my first Samsung TV (I have 4 now). After the last update (I have auto update on apps) things just started to work. If this is because I always manually install the latest Plex server on my synonolgy as well, I am not sure. All of a sudden; It just worked as it is supposed to.
I have been tweaking my server settings since the beginning of time, never taking notes of what I have changed though. The only thing that I think changed everything for the better was that I saw a new logo appearing when I started the Plex app.
If you want me to I can go through my Synology Plex Server settings and write them down here for you if that might help?
Nah I’m on windows for my Plex Server so not sure that will be helpful. There really isn’t much to configure to make Plex Server work.
The issues I am encountering are all under the hood is my guess. I’ve had the same TV/AVR for 8-10 years and only recently, like the last few months started having these issues. So it’s either the Server or Samsung TV client.
I have a separate thread to try and sort these 2 nearly crippling issues.
