[Feature-Request] Built in local authentication server (prevent plex.tv outage)

Guy’s Plex defo does not care what their users want. Even people with lifetime plex passes do not get a response from them.

I’ve posted multiple forum posts and feature requests about this as they all just get closed or dismissed. See links below:

Plex local authentication disable with PIN enabled?

Plex Web is just another Plex client. It’s settings are saved within your browser’s cache. Do you have your browser set to clear the cache whenever you close the browser? If so, then this is what’s clearing your login info so you have to login again the next time. Also, accessing your server using 127.0.0.1 or 10.0.x.x will be treated as 2 different clients. Their settings will not copy from one to the other.

Local Plex Login To Offer Only "Managed Users" | Remote Plex login asks for "Plex.tv"

Hi, It looks like a lot of people are expecting Plex’s “Managed Users” feature to work like the below suggestion and I know the only reason I got Plex Pass was for this feature. Plex Pass users should have the option to select how I want my managed users to sign into my Plex server. When I am only my local network I should only be asked which Managed User I want to sign in as and to enter the pin. For some reason it is asking me to Sign into a Plex.tv account? Why would I want to do this just…

Can it be programmed so that authentication for users is local? Scenario: I have kids and have user accounts for them. I restrict to kids shows. I lose internet connectivity but the data is all sitting local on my LAN, now they can’t watch their shows because AFAIK it’s required to have an active connection to use Plex when using user authentication

They just don’t care… Anyone else thinking of jumping ship from this software? They’re practicies are becoming concerning. Emby Media server looks to have all the features of Plex (Wonder if this post gets removed)
