hi,I recently shared content of my account with friends, but I soon realized they shared their account with many other people.
If I put up a filter by IP, it puts a limit at Plex services. (dynamic ip for smartphone, tablet etc âŠ)
So it would be interesting to implement a new feature:
âdevices limit per user account on Multi-User featuresâ

+10, when is this coming to plex?
Incredibly useful feature to implement.

We need this basic user option.

Please implement this feature to plex.
+1, would love this feature!
+1 on Max concurrent connections per Plex username or Family account
My brother gave his plex family account to someone and now its using up all my resources. I have since blocked him but i need to let them back on eventually.

Would love to limit the number of connections to my users who have decided to share their credentials with family and friends.

I would like to limit to 1 stream per user.

not to be rude, but if you canât trust people you share with, then perhaps you shouldnât be sharing with them at all.
there is nothing worse than a person who take advantage of another person. time to grow some horns and tell them to stop or give them the boot.
+1, would love this feature.

If you are sharing with 20-30 users then do you really have time to monitor all of the streams day and night to ensure no one is sharing an account? Why should this feature to have more access control not be built in to save us the hassle of monitoring? Do I really know ahead of time when inviting a friend that they will for sure not share their account and should it be something I have to think long and hard about before I share an invite? Saying donât share with them if you canât trust them is an easy excuse, but the feature to limit # of streams per account is really be too simple to implement to not do it and would make plex server owners lives easier.
Plex is about sharing, but I think you would be naive to think just because it isnât (hasnât yet) been a problem for you that everyone else should only have users they can âtrustâ as much as you.
Yep, this would be very handy.

+1 Iâve been hoping for this feature for a long time.
@âstevie.â, as @craig91 said, it shouldnât be something we need to monitor. It also has nothing to do with trust. Some people donât even realize theyâre sharing it. Iâd rather be watching a show than checking up on everyone. Plex absolutely needs this.
+1 Per user limit either on bandwidth to include concurrent streams
+1 Limit concurrent per user

I had it happen recently where my Dad signed in on someoneâs TV to watch something and didnât think to sign out. He never intended to share the access but the other person now is complaining when things donât work to my Dad. He politely told them it wasnât supposed to stay on and thatâs a whole thing now between them. I donât know what device to nuke in the settings since people use a range of devices.
Lol the feature to shut off a stream and post a message has helped but not a final solution
I would start paying yearly again for this feature alone. I stopped paying because development is going nowhere at the moment.
