I , and i guess lots of people, use home video libraries for things we film, or record from tv that are not categorized. I also use them for cooking videos or other tutorials.
The problem is that as is, the “home movies” library list every file as its own. That is a complete mess ofcourse.
We can view “by folder” ofcourse, and that is better, but far away from good.
I think a nice solution, that would require minimal coding since 95% of the code is already implemented in Plex would be to “show each home movie folder as a playlist”.
That is instead of manually creating a playlist for every home movie folder and accessing it from the playlist section, just give us an option to “show each folder as a playlist”
What we gain from that? Organization , since we already have organized our files in folders and we have already provided the movies with filenames to be listed in the order we want them to play.
So please consider improving the home movies section taking into account both folder organization and filename ordering because in the current state its practically not usable
