File location for saved DVR recordings

Probably somewhere in the manual but I can not find it. I am trying to find where Plex saves the tv shows using the DVR functionality. I can not find it anywhere under any settings, yet I know I configured it at one point. I’ve added some new drives and want to change the recording location. I searched all the FAQ and searched online. Nothing comes up for me. If it matters, device is on approved list. (WinTV Quad HD Tuner by Hauppauge)

it saves it to the tv library path.

if you have more than one path for the tv library, then you will be able to choose.

if you have more than one tv library, you will want to choose the path for the applicable library you want the dvr shows to show up in.

example i have 3 tv libraries

tv
tv-4k
tv-dvr

I use a path associated with tv-dvr with the dvr recording location, so that dvr shows only show up in the tv-dvr section.

It will ask you when you record. or you can change when editing the recording. for TV shows it will give you tv library options to choose to add to. If it is a movie it will give your movie libraries as options. If a library as more than one path then it will also give those options when that library is selected.

My TV library has multiple main folders paths it looks at so they will be options. But if the library only has one location path it will not be shown there.

Thanks to both of you! So I need to create the library first, is what never came to mind. I was looking for a drive location and because I didn’t try to add a recording, didn’t see that it was letting me chose a location within the recording. Thought it was an external setting.

I too have multiple TV library - one for the week of live tv and past favorites, etc
