Is there info anywhere that describes how Plex describes which video file to play first?
I’d like to be able to have highly compressed versions of my movies with x265 + HE-AAC but also to have x264 + LC-AAC versions.
The smaller x265 + HE-AAC versions would ideally be chosen first to reduce bandwidth requirements while the larger x264 + LC-AAC versions would only be used by devices that don’t support x265/HE-AAC.
Unfortunately, it seems like Plex chooses the largest file first regardless of codec, assuming it’s higher quality when that’s often not the case if the smaller file is using a better codec.
