Hmm, that sounds like something that usually happens when the library folders are misconfigured. If you edit your TV library what paths are added in the Folders section?
That’s curious, is it possible you could tell me exactly how to reproduce this issue?
I looked up all of those now and they’re all there but some are new and could have been affected by the issue I described in my earlier post.
I would obviously want it to work perfectly for everyone, but everyone has slightly different configurations that might cause a specific issue not seen with everyone. There are a lot of people using this agent where it works perfectly fine (myself included). I just tested with Mieruko-chan and it matched perfectly first time.
what i want to know is why so many shows have incorrect air dates with the new agent - it’s doing my head in having to edit the dates so they don’t get stuck for a week or two in the front of the recently released list.
Please provide some examples. We don’t use our own data and it all comes from sites like TMDB, TVDB and IMDB. If there is something wrong it may just be a case of fixing the problem at the source.
The Walking Dead, Fear The Walking Dead, Only Murders in The Building and Chapelwaite are all ones I can think of off the top of my head, there are more.
“Originally Available” has only been incorrect since switching to the new agent. The date is often a week or more into the future.
For TWD these s11 episodes are available for early access download which is why you might believe the first aired date is wrong and in the future. TMDB (The Walking Dead: Season 11 (2021) — The Movie Database (TMDB)) have strict rules and they use the TV aired date which is a week after early access.
The other shows might be the same but would need to be checked.
I think @anon5074910 touched on one cause of this but please provide the actual episodes that you believe have the incorrect dates then those can be checked against the source data.
I don’t understand why the new agent is doing this when then old one never did, it’s more an observation and mild annoyance than anything. To be pedantic about it the field is “Originally AVAILABLE” not “aired”.
As far as TWD and it’s spin offs it’s literally every recent release.
The Only Murders and Chapelthingy show - every episode is wrong.
I have regretted nothing more with Plex than switching to the new Agent and the inability to switch back is a nightmare. I can only hope that one day it gets fixed.
Fields that were accurate are now blanked, shows can no longer be found even with the TVDB series ID’s and generally it is a complete shambles.
The sources are in almost all cases correct. They worked and provided the correct information under the previous agents and only got scrambled after the update to the Plex agent.
Are the episodes matched? To check this go to your TV library, select the “Library” tab and select “Episodes” in the drop down:
Once on the Episodes view, select the “All” drop down and choose the “Unmatched” filter:
This will list all episodes that are not matched to any online database. If that’s the case then please let me know how your files are named as it’s likely here where things are failing.
No the episodes are not matched across a large number of shows
Files are named with the “Title - S0XE0X - Episode Name” standard and as previously mentioned worked fine under the previous agent. Information disappeared as soon as the new agent was used.
I apologize for sneaking into this thread to ask, but I’m also seeing at least one show (Lilo & Stitch: The Series) with metadata issues in DVD order, including the same episode repeated twice in the season. It specifically started after I upgraded the library. Is there a reporting mechanism for this as I run into it?
In DVD order, both s01e15 and s01e37 are “Drowsy”. e15 should be “Bad Stitch”. The files are named correctly, and I confirmed the problem on two different PMS’s. TVDB shows it correctly in DVD order.
Thanks for the direction, I’ll keep it in mind as I look through other shows and seasons. I just happened to run across this last night.
