It’s been a few weeks since I last watched any live tv on my PMS via Amazon Fire TV. Today when I attempted to watch a live program, every attempt caused the application to crash, automatically relaunch, and take me to the Plex app home screen. I am able to navigate the program guide without any issues. However, once I select a show to watch, It says it’s tuning, looks as if it’s about to play but then the whole Fire TV application crashes are resets.
I run two servers, one on Windows 10 (1.12.0.4829) and one Mac (1.9.7.4460) and this issue happens on both servers when accessed via Fire TV.
Live tv works without any issue via internet browser or an iOS device. I have reset my Fire Stick several time and rebooted my PMS. These steps have not addressed my issue. Any assistance would be appreciated. Server logs attached.
I’ve done further testing and have partly identified the cause of the crash. I am running my FireTV from a location outside my PMS’ local network. Previously, when Live TV used to work with out issues, I had the Internet Streaming set to “Maximum.” Since the issue started, I’ve noticed that it can be corrected by changing the stream setting to anything 720p or below. Anything 1080p or above will cause the crash described previously.
Does anyone have any insight into what might have caused this to happen all of the sudden?
Thanks!
Just hoping to get this thread a little more attention. I’m at a total loss. Still cant watch any live TV remotely above above 720p. Consequently this kills my ability to direct play any of my pre-recorded .mp4 files that are 1080p.
It runs pretty smooth in the same network, but in my 2nd flat I’ve a FireTv connected via remote link (Internet connection).
Here everything runs smooth apart from Live-TV. If you tune right into any channel, the FireTv freezes and a few seconds later the hole App is doing a restart. So I hope there’ll be some news soon.
