Fire TV stick: An error occurred while attempting to play this video. Problem and solution

Server Version#: 1.21.1.3830
Player Version#: 8.11.0

Problem: Won’t play any content on via Fire TV stick on my LG HDTV. It will show all the library’s content but won’t play it, showing this error:
“An error occurred while attempting to play this video. Please check your connection and try again.”
This occurred shortly after an update to the Fire TV app (I think). Version 8.11.0
Solution: go into Fire TV settings–>Manage Installed Apps–>Plex–>Force stop then Clear cache–>Launch app then it works!
