Player Version#: 8.4.2
With AFR enabled, when the video finishes playing, the plex app restarts itself every time and returns to the home menu. This happens on 4K stick and Pendant. Switching AFR off resolves the issue. Anyone else with this issue?

I have seen what I believe is this issue but I think it is related to refresh rate switching and auto login turned off perhaps?
I have two Fire Stick 4Ks. One is in a bedroom and set to auto-login, while the other is in the living room and set to not auto-login. When a video ends on the living room TV, if I don’t want to play the next video, I interrupt the autoplay countdown and then the only way to get out of that screen on the New Player is to use the back button from what I can tell. When I do this, quite often instead of going back to the preplay screen of the previous episode the app restarts, because it takes me back to the user profile selection screen. I don’t see this issue on the Fire Stick in the bedroom that had auto login turned on. When I turn refresh rate switching off on the Fire Stick in the living room it also behaves correctly.
I have tried reinstalling the app on the Fire Stick in the living room and even did a full factory reset of the device, thinking it might be a FireOS issue on that Stick.
Saw same on my Nvidia Shield. It is fixed in the latest beta release.
Updates to the Amazon store generally lag Google Play releases by days or sometimes weeks. You can sideload the beta release on a Firestick if desired. Sideloading is relatively easy via the Downloader app (Google “Firestick sideload” or similar for details). A sideloaded app will not auto-update with future releases. You can get back to auto-updates by deleting the sideloaded version and re-installing the app store version.
BETA:
Plex Fire Tv App needs a complete overhaul. Updating to the latest EXO Payer or better will resolve 90% of these problems.

Good eye. That does look like it would be this potentially. Unfortunately, the issue I described it still happening to me.
Player Version 8.5.1.19778
I zipped to near the end of a program to get the issue in logs, though… So if Plex is paying attention to this thread, here they are. I trimmed the beginning of them so it starts at “here’s where it was playing, and then here’s what happens after that”.
