As of this morning, the Plex app on my Toshiba Fire TV starts to load and just when it looks like it might finally become usable – it shuts down and returns me to the FireTV home screen.
Prior to this morning (ever since the interface looked like it had changed to be like the Roku has now) the app had become excruciatingly slow when responding to clicks on the remote (no other apps on the FireTV exhibit this behavior, not even the previous version of the Plex app). It had also been telling me I needed to set up my Home screen (or does Plex call it ‘Page’ or something else?) every single time I started the app or even returned to the home screen in the same session. That said, when I was able to get it to play at all, it still worked OK and the audio is much better than the Netflix or even Amazon Prime Video apps!)
Sadly though, when I tried to start it to find a version number for this post a few minutes ago, all it would do is show “Home”, “More” and a ‘busy’ spinner for 30-60 seconds and then exit. If I tried to navigate with the remote, it would terminate immediately.
