First impressions + a Wierd stuck app issue

Mostly very positive,

Everything seems to work great and feels fast, UI really suits the screen size

Can't wait for the Photo and Music bits to arrive!

Only problem I had playback wise was with planet earth - it plays for 5 minutes, stops for 10 seconds and then continues.

I ripped this from BluRay to MP4, but with DTS-HD and I suspect the issue here is my little HP Microserver can't transcode DTS-HD to AC3 fast enough.

So when the DTS issue is resolved this will probably go away.

One weird issue,

Then had a game of Forza, then went back into plex.

It re prompted me for a password, and then It said it couldn't find a server running 9.10

(I assume it should stay logged in right?)

I rebooted my PMS and checked it was working on the tablet and PC, still no joy on the xbox one

I powered the Xbox off (soft powered off)

When I went back in it showed the plex logo, and spinning circle and did this for about 5 minutes

The plex logo was not at full brightness, it was the same as when the xbox has an app idle and it dims the screen, the rest of the apps were normal, but the stuck plex app was half bright.

In the end I fully rebooted the Xbox and off it now its fine.

Not sure what happened, but thought I'd drop that in verbosely.

Great work so far!

DTS issues? Does DTS need to be transcoded? The Xbone plays blurays, so it must support DTS, right?

Thanks for the forum post, i'm sorry you experienced this issue. Has anyone else seen something similar? If we can get some simple steps to reproduce, we can look to debug and resolve the issue in a future update.

Thanks in advance

As mentioned in the FAQ post, DTS is not currently supported for 3rd party applications. We're working with Microsoft on this...

Experienced similar issues as well... it's happened to me when jumping back into Plex after opening another app a couple of times and happened after resuming my XB from sleep.  A couple times I got the dim plex screen with the spinning circle and once I got that with two spinning circles.  Full reboot of the XB seemed to be the only fix.

Also missing all artwork when jumping to a letter, then into the media, then back out - if that makes sense.

If this happens again, can you try using "Quit" from the Context Menu when selecting it from the XB1 Home Screen? I wouldn't have thought you needed to fully reboot...

I've had an XBO since launch day... and I'm embarrassed to admit I didn't even know you could do that.  :-)  Will do.

Actually I think I may have missed a step - I think I had resumed my xbox from sleep after playing forza

Looks like David S's issue is very similar.

Me either - re the context menu! and another nearly day one owner!

I don't know how you have survived without knowing that...many times apps or games need to be force closed especially when the console first came out.  That will fix a lot of issues though

Believe it or not this is my first experience ever having an app crash, and I use a lot of apps...  that's no slight against Plex, just say'n.
