Fix Match & Unmatch gone and only Plex media client available which returns "No Match"

Plex is no longer matching media to obtain posters or indeed any metadata. Agents still appear within the settings and are ticked but when you attempt a search, only Plex Movie is available as the agent under Search Options and it does not match any media. Even something as obvious as a Bond Film returns “No Match”. Fix Match and Unmatch have also disappeared from the item menu.

Please help someone

1.39 is a player version. The server version will be in the General section under your servers name.

if your library uses the plexmovie agent it already queries all the other sources that the old agents used. The agent settings for the new agent are in the individual library settings under advanced.

The new agent uses completely different code than the old agents so and cannot be intermingled in one library without lots of weirdness and errors happening is why they are not an option to choose the old agents when doing a fix match for a library that uses the new agent.

i’m not sure when you switched to new agent but if you did not do it via the “Upgrade Matching” option then you need to refresh metadata for the whole library to update all the stuff in library.

That said if you are getting nor match it could also be a network error somewhere along the change and would need to see server logs after attempting a fix match search

Server Version#:1.24.3.5033. Haven’t seen an option to switch to new agent. Hate to be simple but it has always worked without altering anything. Have never seen an Upgrade matching option either around the settings.

Edit your library and look at its settings under advanced to see which it is using. Also the plex xml info for the item will say what the individual item was originally matched with by looking at it’s GUID.

The Upgrade Matching option would be in the libraries menu but the same can be done by refreshing metadata for entire library after changing to the new the agent manually.

That is not necessarily why you are not getting results in search just was explaining why other agent options were not there in Fix Match window. I would look for errors in logs after doing the search

I think I have this same issue, but I’m not technical enough to sort it out. I took all my media from one Synology Plex Server and copied it to another Synology Plex server in a second location (with poor internet speed, hence needed the media to be local). Roughly 12 TB of media data. Server version is: 1.24.5.5160. New server and movies defaulted to new Plex Movie agent when I set up the system. I haven’t counted, but my guess is that 1/3 of the movies don’t have metadata on the new system…no posters, wrong release dates, etc. These same items found meta data on the other system. If I do a “refresh metadata” nothing is found. If I go through the “Match” process for each movie…one-by-one (tedious)…the first match screen (mostly) doesn’t show me the movie in the list of what it finds, but by clicking “search options” and making NO CHANGE to the screen (i.e. leaving the title the same) and searching, magically the movie shows up and I can select it. Why on earth do I need to do this one-by-one…why can’t the agent find the movie to begin with? User error? I’m a Plex Pass holder and have used Plex for years…thanks.

Looking at your logs it appears to be mostly busy trying to find matches for music. I see your individual searches for movies you said worked but not one for the whole movie library.

Assuming you still have most movies not matched, can you do a Refresh All Metadata from the movie library menu. then grab logs again after a minute.
