[FIXED] DVR Schedule went empty the week of May 29

Server Version#: 1.32.2.7100
Player Version#: N/A
Tuner Make/Model: HDHOMERUN PRIME
Guide/Lineup name: Verizon Fios Burlington (MA , US)
Using XMLTV?: No
Channel number/Name: 10/510 (CW) and 12/512 (NBC) and 231/731 (AMC)

During the week of May 29, I observed that the DVR Schedule went empty, after observing multiple shows populating the schedule just days before.

Shows that disappeared from the schedule included:
“Fear the Walking Dead” on AMC
“Gotham Knights” and “Superman and Lois” on CW
“The Blacklist” on NBC.

After checking the guide, I saw that NEW episodes were appearing within the next week that should have appeared in the DVR schedule but did not.

When this previously had happened, I needed to delete all of the old instances of a show from the recording schedule, and then re-add them in, as the UID of the series had changed.

Repeating the deletion and addition of all the shows worked, but now I am concerned about having to monitor my DVR schedule for the next few months (or possibly longer due to the writers strike) to make sure when shows start their next season, I may need to manually re-add them in again.

Logs (5.5 MB) attached in case anyone wants to do a deep dive.

Just noticed a pop-up for “Program Guide Data for Live TV” in the forums that points to an issue on May 31 with “Unresolved incident: Program Guide Data for Live TV.” on https://status.plex.tv/. This might explain what is happening today. Perhaps it was happening earlier in the week, and wasn’t identified until today.

Looks like someone is having a similar issue in this thread:

I am also seeing this issue. Recreating the recording works, even with the old one still present. One showing as No Episodes to record and the other showing as the next recording available. There’s something else going on.

This might be due to a different change: Upcoming DVR program guide lineup changes for Australia, Canada and Europe/UK

Saw that, but I am in the US.

I had the same problem, had to set up all new recordings. Glad I check this almost daily or I would’ve missed some episodes.

Same, I’m in the US w/ comcast via hdhomerun prime and all my scheduled upcoming recordings are gone except those created in the past week or so. Finding the shows in the live guide and re-adding them seems to schedule, but my 100+ existing schedules all show “no upcoming airings”

Same in the US also
All shows stopped recording today Had to setup new recordings and delete old if possible.
Just after the season ended so many can not be set back up until they start again and show up in the guide.
Many show up but on other channels could be a problem , have to check when show starts again next season.

It’s a PIA but found a few handfuls of shows that ended that i deleted
You would think that PLEX would at least tell us why this happened and how it should be handled
but us guni pigs are busy just trying not to miss anything.

I just find it frustrating that the Live TV/DVR feature is the one thing we pay extra to be able to use and it’s the feature that seems to be continually broken in one way or another.

FYI. Deleting the DVR and re-adding them does not fix all the “Unknown Airing” in the EPG.
I am running the most recent QNAP Intel PMS release Version 1.32.3.7089

I just noticed this issue with my Plex DVR. I am in the US too. I re-added several recordings. But I have over one hundred shows in my recording list. I can’t go back through every show and add it again. Especially since many are not even airing in the next couple of weeks. I hope they fix this.

What’s going on with the Guide? Been getting progressively was over the last couple days with more and more stations either showing the station name in the programming section or “Unknown Airing” as shown here.

I’ve tried updating the guide data, checked for both server and client updates, and rebooted everything multiple times.

Having the same issue here.

Same issue here, only a few shows in the guide and nothing listed for next week. Manual updates do complete but nothing shows up in guide.

EDITED
Actually, it looks like the program guide data is there , but the DVR schedule only has a few shows listed, a lot less than what should be there.

I’m jumping on this bandwagon.

Nearly all of my scheduled recordings (USA, Cannon Falls, MN, 55009, HBCI, supplied from Plex,) have to be completely rescheduled. My suspicion is that a UUID/GUID type of value coming in from the EPG have changed, possibly a tiny little character difference in the names, have changed. I know that I’m a relatively speaking small time user, but this is a rather significant annoyance. Only the Formula 1 schedule has survived.

Edit: adding detail.

As an example, “Diners, Drive-ins and Dives” was lost, and I’ve added it back in. I now have 2 identically named recordings for this show, and what I do see as notable is that the posters are different. I can tell the difference as one object shows no scheduled recordings and the other object does (newly created object near the bottom of the list.)

I am also seeing the same issue. @sa2000 mentioned they found a cause in the other thread, not sure if it’s related to this issue.

I also noticed that items that were removed and re-added show a blank poster, where they had one before.

Just had this happen for the second time. I recreated a bunch of recordings yesterday, everything was fine earlier and now my dvr schedule is almost empty again. Same as others above, i can re-record things and wind up with duplicates (1 can see upcoming shows, 1 is just orphaned). I agree that it seems like some uuid or something has changed which is causing epg matching to miss for almost everything.

Tried deleting / recreating the DVR in plex (which others said may help) – it did not.

The fix for the “No Upcoming airings” in DVR Schedules was deployed yesterday and the overnight scheduled tasks EPG Guide Refresh or a Manual EPG Guide refresh should make the schedules see the forthcoming airings.

But any scheduled recordings created between Monday 25th and yesterday will need to be recreated as they may have referencing the wrong Identifiers

My issues have been resolved.

I can confirm that all the scheduled recordings that I made this week have disappeared from the DVR Schedule.

I can also confirm that I recreated these scheduled recordings, and they now appear in the DVR schedule.
