Forcing Android app to use Relay?

Player Version#: version 2025.14.0
com.plexapp.android

It looks like this version is broken, but how can I force my android app to automatically use Relay? I’m not port forwarding on my router and I paid for the relay service, so I plan to use it. Prior versions it would take up to 10 minutes of refreshing my server before it finally kicked in. I would much rather be able to just force relay once I’m outside my home network. Is there a way to do that?

I’d downgrade the app for now:

Super appreciate it. But that solves the issue that it won’t play at all. How can I force play into Relay?

As far as I’ve seen, there’s still questions regarding Plex Relay and the new requirements for remote play/Plex Pass. I’m curious if they broke something with this pay wall roll out. What server version are you on?

I don’t have access since I’m not home ATM - but I updated to the latest docker version last night - running on Linux. Old app version working fine now. It might be a longer usage issue. It switches to relay immediately on fresh app install, but after a few weeks of usage it takes many server refreshes to get the connection to switch to relay.

Edit:
Server version: 4.145.1

Also, first time app setup switches to relay. Close the app and reopen and then I run into connection issues like mentioned above

Thanks man, you’re a TRUE HERO :winking_face_with_tongue: New Update is a DISGRACE and they should be ashamed. And the worst part is it’s a real shame because the new Layout is GREAT! Just the look of the Homescreen in general looks great! But the entire App is incredibly SLOW
