Server Version#: 1.13.8.5395
New to Plex, but having trouble getting started. I have a server running FreeNAS 11.1. Plex server has been installed into a jail using both the plug-in and manually creating a jail (FreeBSD version of Plex server). I have also created an Ubuntu VM and installed the Linux version of the Plex server. In all three cases, I can connect to the Plex server using xxx.xxx.x.x:32400/web and see it locally, but I can’t enable remote access or claim the server.
Symptoms:
Settings -> Remote Access shows red exclamation mark. Message says “Not available outside your network. First sign in to access you server from anywhere”.
Settings -> General: This server is unclaimed and not secure. Clicking “Claim server” starts the spinning circle which spins for about 30 seconds, and ends with no change and “Claim server” on the button again.
Sometimes, on the first attempt at claiming the server, I briefly get a pop-up message about a problem signing in. I am always shown as signed-in in the upper right corner drop down menu, however.
As an additional test, I created an Ubuntu VM on my Windows machine using VirtualBox, installed Plex server and was able to claim it. Obviously this suggests an issue with how the FreeNAS server is configured (or maybe my local network?), but after a couple of days hunting through both Plex and FreeNAS forums and FAQs perhaps someone with more familiarity with Plex will see the problem faster than I am able to.
Log is attached.
