We have an issue with 1.18.7 for users with an iTunes library that gets loaded into Plex. The server becomes unresponsive after loading the iTunes media.
This has been referred to our development team
If you do not have iTunes media, please provide server logs
Thank you for the quiuck response. I don’t use iTunes, they are just local video files on my desktop. I can access them on devices on my WiFi network, like my, computer, TVs and Phone (only on wifi. Server Unavailable error while only using mobile data).
I’ve attached my logs as requested. Please let me know if there is anything else that I can provide
Do you have a manual port forward in the router ? You could check that it is still in place.
Also that the IP address of the server has not changed rendering any port forward to be wrong, Currently it is showing as 10.0.0.2
Actually I do see flipping between 10.0.0.2 and 10.0.0.24 - just choose one interface for now please and make sure the port forward applies to that.
Other area to check is if you are on Comcast and have xFinity - xFi Advanced Security stops port forwards working and need each incoming connection to be approved
Having checked the above, go through Disable Remote Access, wait a few minutes and then Enable Remote Access and wait few minutes and then capture logs again and also router configuration screenshots showing if there is a port forward and if there is a DHCP reservation for the local IP Address plus remote access server setting screenshot showing if manual port specified or dynamic uPnP
Other area to look into is any new security / firewall on the PC
Good Morning.
I don’t think I have port forwarding on. I’ve checked both the Netgear Router (R6900P)and the A&TT Fiber Modem/router (ARRIS BGW210-700) and cant see any port forwarding happening (screenshots attached)
The ‘Remote Access’ is a weird one… I have a constant ’ Not available outside your network’ message and when I try to enable remote access, it goes green for a second or two, and then goes back to the ’ Not available outside your network’ message. I’ve attached the logs as requested
I’ve checked the Windows firewall, and Plex services have full permissions
I’m using AT&T as an ISP, and have been for months, but this issue just started happening last week, as far as I can tell. I haven’t made any configuration changes to either the netgear or AT&T routers in a few months, which is why I’m stumped. I really do appreciate the help.
When you have two routers, one must be in bridge / modem mode. Please check it. You wan ip address showing on one modem/router must be the same wan ip address showing in the 2nd router
Thanks again for the quick response. I’ve unplugged my PC from the Netgear and I am now connected right into the AT&T modem, but I still get the unable to connect error. Did you notice any other setup issues in the pictures I provided?
Don’t really want to waste time experimenting. Is this what you intend to go forward with ? i.e. ditching your router and going with your ISP device? If you are - then fine we can go forward but first you must make sure your ISP router is configured to allow port mapping and uPnP.
Feb 23, 2020 10:16:50.211 [1364] DEBUG - NAT: UPnP, getPublicIP didn't find usable IGD.
Feb 23, 2020 10:16:50.461 [1364] WARN - NAT: PMP, got an error: NATPMP_ERR_RECVFROM.
If your intention is to use your own router then the test you just did was a waste of time and you should be instead looking into the ISP device and make sure it is in modem / bridge mode and then verify it by checking the WAN IP Address on both routers, The ISP one must do any routing.
Yes, I plan to keep the configuration how it is, with the PC connected to the ISP device.
I think we’re good for now. The ‘remote access’ is working, and my friends can now see my media.
After I applied the NAT/Gaming settings, I plugged my PC and NAS into the ISP device and everything is good to go (for now), but I’ll keep an eye on it for the next few days.
