I noticed this morning, I can see my server now, but can’t access anything. When I get home, I am going to add back the manual port forwarding that I removed in my wasted hour of trouble shooting.
Still wonky for me…
I see the proper external IP but connectivity bounces from nope, direct, and indirect as I click through. I also see say remote is unavailable then available… bouncy.
Mine is working now… Forwarded port 32400 (UPnP is still enabled) manually and rebooted the PC. All working now.
not working for me - even after rebooted servers, when I go to re-enable remote access, it just hangs on “connecting server”!. Worse than before.
Mine is doing the exact samething now. It hangs and so far the only way I have been able to stop it, is shut down either the web browser or quit the server.
it has nothing to do with you’re isp or ■■■■ evrytime plex pushes updates there is something wrong i have it perctly port opened on my router and such befor the updates i never have this issue now i do im thinking of stop paying monthly plex pas until they fix all there bugs first. with me it happend random that it goes from green to red its plex fault not ours and i can’t watch the remote acces button constantly when it goes red its quite annoying im really done with plex if they keep coming with bugs.
I changed the port forwarding on my #1 server to use default of 32400 as external port, and restarted server and after a significant period of watching it spin away with the “connecting server” msg, it finally connected, and remote access via mobile on data network (wifi disabled on mobile) , remote access worked. However, server #2, which is set for external port forwarding of 32401 just continues to spin away on the “connecting server msg”, if I kill the server and restart, remote access manually specified external port of 32401 has an “x” next to it, and although the page says remote access enabled, remote access to that server of course does not work.
Same exact issue now here as well. Last night I was picking up the incorrect external IP. Plex staff advised that they had fixed the issue and to restart PMS. Restarted and now “Connecting to Server” is display for an extended period of time followed by PMS not picking up internal or external IP addresses and remote connectivity failing completely.
you can download from https://plex.tv/downloads
Anyone with an issue with remote access whilst running on 1.13.8.5395 please provide logs / screenshots. An issue was fixed earlier today on plex.tv to do with detection of the public IP of the server - where it was leading to an IP address such as 172.17.0.1 being seen as the public ip
If any one had that issue, please disable / re-enable remote access or restart the server and ensure remote access is enabled
For any remaining issues, ensure
Please make sure you run on the 1.13.8 release and have debug logging enabled - see https://support.plex.tv/articles/201643703-reporting-issues-with-plex-media-server/
Then restart the server and if remote access is enabled but failing, capture screenshot and logs zip and attach
https://support.plex.tv/articles/200250417-plex-media-server-log-files/
Hopefully this will work… There were a lot of logs on this one.Plex.zip (1.1 MB)
The screen shot is what it is has been doing for the past 5 minutes or so. No change.
This is being investigated at this minute - an issue at the plex.tv end
Can validate that restarting Plex service resolved after today’s fix. Thanks!
HOw do you disable plex relay?
There’s an option for freebsd ports when you run make config
The problem I mentioned earlier causing enable remote access to hang and the public IP to appear as unknown has now been fixed
I am still having this issue. Is there a way to implement the fix?
My problem was fixed, I reverted changes to what I had prior to the issue and it is working now. However, I am still on the previous version, I still have not updated.
No issues here. Been remitting in or accessing from states away no problem. Watched a movie this am in fact with coffee before I hit the road and now streaming my podcasts from home in the car.
Hi everyone. I have a similar issue that started right about the same time this post was created. After a certain amount of time after pressing apply on manual port (less then 1 hour) my Plex shows in red that it is NOT accessible outside my network. The weird thing is that my Plex is actually working fine from outside my network even if it says its not. Is this a view/gui bug? I use manual port and have been using the same settings in my firewall for years. Any ideas what it could be?
