Remote access is not working

Server Version#: 1.13.8.5395 (latest at this moment)
Player Version#: 3.73.1 (https://app.plex.tv/desktop)

I cannot access to my PMS using https://app.plex.tv/desktop webpage.
Neither using another plex clients, for raspberry pi for example.
I need that this works again, if not, I don’t know why I paid the plex pass.

I’m in the same boat. I reset the remote connection capability in Plex Web, it says it’s Ok, but then if I click away and click Remote Access, it says it’s unavailable. It’s been doing this all day. I restarted the NAS, restarted Plex several times, restarted the router, still the same. Getting tired of this…

Ok, maybe not the same boat, but close enough. My Dad can’t connect to my NAS because of continual remote access unavailability…

I’m seeing some of the same here, constantly unavailable, I’ll click on “retry” and it’s available… but then 5,10, or 15 min later its unavailable.

This started happening after latest update

I had the same issue as of yesterday and resolved it tonight.

Server running off Windows 10, I’m assuming Windows defender updates pissed it all up. As it was working flawlessly for months until last night.

Make sure the router has port 32400 forwarded,

Install comodo Internet security firewall on safe mode.

Go to global connections and forward port 32400.

Solved all my remote problems.

Adding the ports to Windows firewall did not work so this was my work around.

Also Make sure to assign static ip to the server.

I’m Using Google dns server as well.

Glad it worked for you, but unless someone hacked my router or my NAS, this doesn’t explain it for me. I’m wondering if this is because of the reported ICANN security token changeover or whatnot? They said it could cause outages for up to 48 hours…

Don’t know why they’re fixing ■■■■ that ain’t broken. Just causing users hassle

Is everyone on 1.13.8 ?

Most of the staff is away on conference this next week, so much will have to wait until they return.

If it’s version specific, I can help you back down to what you need.

I am running Version 1.13.9.5439 on Windows 10.

Still happening :frowning:

1.13.8 here

Remote access says unavailable, but is fully working for me after my fix.

Still having this problem. I’m going to take a look at my router settings (to see if someone messed with them or something), but it would help to know what I’m looking for). I already know there is no way to change UPnP (if the router has such a setting, it’s hidden from me). I haven’t touched anything on either the NAS or the router to cause this. I do have a hardware switch I might try rebooting…

Version 3.67.1 web client, 1.13.8.5395 Plex Server here (running on WD PR2100 NAS)

.8 and .9 here, happening on the shield, freebsd, and windows. It’s not just natpnp either, I have plex on a dmz host with direct port access. It’s acting the same as it was before minus exposing the wrong ip addresses.

same problem as well drops in and out but on the server side everything says its connected only been happening since the last update i hope they fix the problem soon

I don’t think this is related to the last Plex Media Server update (at least on my PR2100). I’ve had this update in place for at least 10 days (but more like 2 weeks?), but this connectivity problem didn’t happen until last night…

See attached. From my router. Redacted the other settings. Look ok?

This has happened to me before, on my MacOS setup. I simply found an old PMS file, overwrote the current file and restarted the PMS. Done and done. I rolled it back to 1.13.0.5023. I found the download here at filehorse.com.

So far, remote access has worked, confirming it while trying to access my server via cellular connection.

For those who are having problems with 1.13.8, since this issue started with 1.13.5, I can provide you with 1.13.4 to verify with if you didn’t maintain your own copy.

Keep in mind, please do save all the 1.13.8 logs before switching

I’ve gotten around this issue by just rolling back to 1.12.3 while everything gets fixed and a release comes out that works I’ll stay here.

Well, this is odd (and probably coincidental). I found an error in my router’s security log saying it was full (despite containing messages up to 2pm today). I cleared it, went back to Plex and recycled the remote access setting (I wanted to see what the log would say), and now it appears to be staying up. The only entry in the log now is “Firewall Setup | Configuration change | WBM user Unknown (0.0.0.0) has changed security settings [repeated 2 times, last time on <today’s date & some random time>]” It looks like it’s staying up this time, but I have no one to test the connection with right now (they’re all in bed now like I should be  ) I’ll check back in in the morning. Night y’all…
