"Game of Thrones" TV series no longer matching

I have encountered this as well. I have many television shows (anime) that I now have to manually find the TVDB number. Some of the movies I have refuse to match now.

Ha! I just added Game of Thrones to my server last night, and wondered why the hell it wasn’t matching! Good to know that it’s not just me, and that (unfortunately) everyone is suffering from the issue.

We have had a response here:

@blim5001 Thanks for the follow-up.

Very useful information. Thanks for sharing.

I’d appreciate someone pointing me to where I can learn how to use the new Plex TV Series agent, add ID number, and manually match TV shows.

Thanks!

Here you go…
Keep in mind this is a forum preview – neither a beta, an early access or productive / stable version!! Solely for testing/previewing.

I have not yet found a detailed example that builds on including IMDb or TMDb IDs in your file/folder names. I suppose including it in the Show’s main folder (same as with movies) will do the trick – so you might take some hints from the support article describing that type of naming.

If you want to match something using the current agent:

In your TV Library find the show you want to match and click the 3 dots to bring up the options:

Select Fix Match (This may just say Match) if the show has never been matched.

Click Search options:

Then enter the ID from the TVDB in the box (and you can remove any values in the Year box:

Doing that `should’ give you the correct match…

Weird. I’m not seeing Fix Match or Match at all. I wonder if it’s because these shows are new, and PMS has been able to match them?

You need to be at the top level of the show, your pic shows you are in an episode pre play screen

If you click the title it should take you to the top level.

You can only match on the show, not seasons or episodes

Yep! Thanks! :+1:t5:

Ya plex meta data has been a nightmare. I have three servers and it seems like 1 out 15 shows don’t match and 1 out of every 10 movies I have doesn’t match. Really having to do alot of manual fixes.

Having same issues with Metadata after moving files to new hard drive. These were all matching fine and now half don’t match or pull Metadata.

Something is going on, but it’s the usual… it’s you issue. I’ve used plex since 2012 and this has been annoying. The 3 servers, one runs in docker via linux; one is on windows and one is on a mac and all 3 have the same exact matching issues.
