Server Version#: 1.19.1.2630
Player Version#: Multiple devices
Hi, I keep updating Plex, but irrespective of that I keep experiencing issues with the server. The server is running on an Nvidia Shield and using a USB drive attached to the Nvidia. The primary use is as a server for local devices (same subnet).
The main issue is that very frequently the server results to be offline on many devices and only available to a few of them. I use the player on iOS (iPhone and iPad), Mac OS, Windows, Oculus Go. I gave access to my entire library to the user that my wife is using, and I have Pass enabled.
Three times our of five the server is Offline according to the player. I try other devices, and it’s offline, usually for many of them, but not all of them. If I check the player directly on the Nvidia, all is good.
So far, I have done the following to try and solve:
- Set up the router to assign always the same IP to the Nvidia
- Plugged the Nvidia directly to an Ethernet cable to exclude issue with the Wifi.
- Set-up a port forwarding to plex server so that I can always check also if I can access from a browser.
It’s becoming frustrating as in many instances the only way I can access the server is by removing it from the player and restarting the player. On my Oculus Go it’s the worst, as I have to remove the server from the list, sign out, force-close the app, reopen it, and sign-in again.
Anything, in particular, I should check? AFAIK when using Ethernet, the Nvidia is always available (and I deactivate the “Sleep” feature).
Thanks!
