This is somewhat interesting, whereby the local Toronto TV station broadcasts the NEWS three times per day; at 12:00 noon, 6:00 PM and 11:30 PM. Now what is interesting is that the name of the broadcast is the same:, except for the Date of the broadcast.

In my opinion, I believe you need to add a surrogate key to your recording database to indicate not only the Date, but the Time of day for situations like this. In other words, the same TV program can occur more than once per day.
