After the most recent update the guide data from my threadfin tuner won’t show up on mobile for Android. I painstakingly uploaded icons for channels originally thinking the icon links were the problem, because at the time the guide data was there but not the channel logos, but now it just says unknown airing for everything that’s not a dummy channel, then it uses the channel name.
Even with a user switch and force closing and restarting the app, and refreshing the guide which takes ages, still nothing in android. Idk about iOS.
EDIT : Moderator removed the beta and the preview tags even tho I specifically added them after checking them to also have the same issue, but neglected to specify that in my post. And upon checing again for the release version, I get intermittent guide data, with channel names for some, and some the proper show titles, but still no logos.
Given how broken Plex has been on iOS and MacOS for years, I use Infuse for my file based playback & using Plex for Live TV.
HOWEVER not with the new code base, Live TV is totally broken for many of us:
1 - Guide data only works for the current day, change to any other day of the week and the guide data is blank (can see guide data when using web client). Screen shot at the end.
2 - Live TV is clunky, slow and often becomes totally un-responsive, just pressing the Live TV tab takes 2-3 seconds for any kind of GUI update alone (not even the tab selection updates)
3 - I don’t know what the deal is with the preview box, it mainly doesn’t work, however when it does work you can’t pause or stop it.
4 - Clicking the X to close Live TV playback, doesn’t close it, just goes back to the grid view with the preview running, that you can’t stop without maximising and pressing pause.
4 - PIP is totally broken in Live TV, just goes to a grey box with a spinning circle. Screen shot below.
Sadly I’m neither surprised just how bad this is, nor expecting it to be fixed anytime soon.
PlexPass lifetime license running on a windows server, and the guide has no programming info on Android. The guide shows the channels, but no programming information. The guide is fine when I view via browser on the server, so the data is there.
iOS is in the same state: blank programming info.
C’mon Plex. Don’t release the code when it is so obviously broken. And if you didn’t know it was broken, then you are not testing enough.
Interestingly I get guide data from 12AM until somewhere around 9PM. After 9PM, I get unknown airing, but as soon as midnight rolls around, it fills back in.
Oddly I’m seeing different behaviour today also, it showed the broadcast channel name instead of show details for any future days in my post a few days ago above. Now it’s showing nothing at all.
Moderator or Plex agent, Do you know when we can expect an update to resolve this issue with unpopulated guide data? This is my primary function for using Plex. As it stands now, I have switched to Emby. I would much prefer to use Plex however until this gets fixed I simply cannot use your platform in the current state.
I have the same issue on iOS. Guide data appears only until 8PM ET. At 8PM it is completely blank for the rest of the day and all subsequent days, then the next morning I have guide data for that day only till 8PM again. I see multiple days of guide data on the web app. Have an HDHomeRun Dual. Not sure when it exactly loads again, but if it’s midnight like I’ve heard others state, then it’s acting like it’s only getting 20 hours of guide data at a time loaded at midnight each day.
