I receive 101 channels Over The Air and use 30, they’re very clear and crisp…but, my guide doesn’t populate past 7PM each and every evening. It was 8P before Daylight changed this past weekend.
My server is iMac 3.6 i7 32GB RAM
connected wirelessly to a Nighthawk Router/mesh system with 360MB down/23MB up
and I use a HDHomerun Quattro digital tuner that connects into the mesh satellite. (this issue was present with the old modem/router from Spectrum which I changed 2 months ago)
I have shutdown, rebooted, updated firmware, disconnected everything, let sit, reconnected everything (in order) and etc with same results. YES, everything is updated and current. It’s been doing this for over a year, but I’m getting very irritated now as we use live TV a lot in the evening.
I use (2) Apple TV’s 4k for viewing, (one ethernet @ 580MB down, the other wireless @ 480MB down) and it does the EXACT same thing on the iMacOS server and iPhone.
Thank you so much for replying… I see im set for backup every 3 days and YES, computer is on 24/7… im not too tech savvy, so where do I find the server logs?
OK, help me out here.
Late yesterday there was an update on my iMac (server) so I did it.
After that, the guide data was populating perfectly, on all devices, exactly like it should.
Just now, I go on the iMac and clicked on Plex (it was already running), but it asked me to sign in…NP, I signed in and all looked good.
I go to LIVE TV and BAM, no data after 7P again.
I go to one of the ATV’s and no data, so I close out Plex and reboot ATV, reopen Plex and the guide data is there, but not after 7P
So, I know it “can” work properly, but for the life of me I cannot figure out WHY or WHAT is going on!
THIS IS MORE ANNOYING THAN ANYTHING!
EDIT: Live TV guide requires Plex Pass for full guide data.
ANOTHER thing I am noticing.
I turn on Plex on Apple TV and guide data is missing “again”, but I close it, reopen, and its back…but still no data after 7P.
Thank you in advance for any suggestions.
Any updates to this? I have the exact same issue. Guide only populates daily through 7pm, then “Unkown Airing”, until the guide refreshes overnight. PMS running on iMac, have deleted the DVR, added back, rebooted, re-scanned channels. I was considering a PlexPass so I could DVR shows, but am holding until the guide is fully populated. I searched through the forums here and found others with a similar issue but can’t find a resolution. My apologies if I missed it.
iMac 2017, running the latest version of Monterey, connected to HDHomeRun FLEX 4K. Guide is fine on HDHomerun app, but I’d like to use Plex since the guide is superior, it operates on more hardware and is where most of my media is managed.
You both may be hitting a weird condition because you don’t have a Plex Pass. Change your scheduled task time to say 5 to 6 PM, guide will refresh before prime time and see if it only get 12 hours worth.
Using Live TV without a Plex Pass was suppose to only be temporary so its hard to say if they are quietly disabling it or its actually broken. Someone needs to upload logs.
Thank you Tiebierius. I changed the time for “Time at which tasks start to run” in scheduled tasks to 18:00. Will see what happens tonight and report back.
Unfortunately, no dice. That didn’t seem to have an effect. The guide continued to display unknown until this morning and symptoms are the same where nothing beyond 7pm displays anything other than “Unknown Airing”.
Log attached
Same here…. BUT, since the Plex Pass was mentioned, I’m starting to think the ONLY time I had the full guide about 2 years ago when I tried Plex Pass…
I’m gonna try it again, although it’s amazing that nobody else has from PLEX has commented here… so much for Plex wanting us to have a great experience……
Let’s see how this works!
Thanks for all the comments
That’s exactly what it is. Without PlexPass, you are limited to less than a day’s worth of guide. When I signed up for PlexPass and refreshed the guide, it took much longer to populate which was a good sign immediately. Now I have a full guide. I’d suggest Plex note this clearly on their website. It’s very possible many people have avoided a subscription because the guide doesn’t fully load for non-Plex Pass accounts.
I checked multiple pages (below) and can only find one very subtle mention of it in the first reference.
Great Job and thank you…I’ve been trying to fix this for over a year. Reloaded, Reformatted, Routers, Everything… all to find out its dimply a Plex pass option.
Again, thanks everyone.
