"h4 (Not Supported)" with 4K x265 HDR video files on Chromecast Ultra

I have a Chromecast Ultra connected to a 4K HDR TV.

When I try to play a 4K x265 HDR video file, I get:

“Sorry! Something went wrong - Error code: h4 (Not Supported).”

I am aware the server’s Intel Xeon E3-1270 CPU is not powerful to transcode such a file (due to its 8,248 PassMark CPU score) but is there a reason the Chromecast Ultra can not Direct Play it?

Same issue here. Please investigate.

The issue is related to the 7.1 AAC stream in the files. 5.1 AAC is fine. It appears to be a Chromecast Ultra issue that has existed since at least summer 2019, so I doubt it will be fixed.
