Here is the story: Recently I bought a Fire TV, and my main use for it would be Plex. but I happen to use the photo libraries a lot, and the Fire TV app has this nasty bug that it will freeze after some time when showing the pictures. (I’ve already reported it on the Fire TV boards)
This pretty much soured me with streaming sticks or set-top-boxes (the projector I’m using the fire stick with can download plex, but it doesn’t have enough memory to actually run it). So I’m thinking of a solution: Getting something like a mini-pc and install the plex media player, have it run on startup, always full screen and use it exclusively for plex.
Notice that I’m not looking for a server. I’m fine with my current setup, even if not ideal. I’m looking to create a “Plex Machine“ to act as a client. Like if we had a PlexStick/PlexCast.
which type of machine should I be looking at (doesn’t need necessarily to be a mini-pc)?
