Hardware Transcoding broken when burning subtitles ApolloLake-based Synology NASes

Appreciated. And to be clear, the picture is still scrambled… Just in case you can’t tell because you are upside down over there.

Thx man - keep us posted please

I’m not sure if this is allowable, but do delete the link if it’s not. I have the SPK file for the v1.18.4.2155 for Intel 64bit Synology. You can use this while waiting for chrisallen’s updated version. This version works with my 1019+ with no issues. PlexMediaServer-1.18.4.2155-472413ec0-x86_64.spk

My DS1019+ doesn’t let me downgrade to 1.18.4.2155 because 1.18.4.2171 is already installed. :frowning:

Rollback to 1.16.3 fixed the issue.

You can uninstall the Plex package from the Package center and do manual install with the version you want. All your Plex configuration is kept.

Thanks! This way I could do the rollback.

This works for me indeed. Will check this thread for progress on an official fix. Thanks to all involved.

Hi thank you for your efforts. Just for your information: still broken on PlexMediaServer-1.18.4.2171-ac2afe5f8-x86_64.spk (just tested on synology DS918+, INTEL Celeron J3455, DSM 6.2.2-24922 Update 4). Works fine indeed as you mention on 1.18.4.2155
Best regards,

Saved the file… Just in case! I just hope they will fix the isseu soon.

can you tell me where to download it? thanks

Synology Package-Center

To summarize:

  • it does work on the latest repo version of Synology: 1.16.3
  • it does not work on the latest version here 1.18.4.2171
  • it does work partly for some of the users with 1.18.4.2155

Right?

As far as I am aware, for me this version just works. Didn’t see anybody stating 2155 had issues. Read somewhere else on the forum that the root cause to this ongoing issue has to do with a problematic intel video driver. There is a suggestion on how to remove this driver from the latest PMS releases, thus forcing the software to revert to an older version of the driver. Since I have no insights in how the code is actually behaving, and the ‘hack’ is kinda not officially supported I’m currently opting to stay on 1.18.4.2155 as this at least a full PMS build provided by someone on the Plex team. I could probably roll back to the latest official Synology repo 1.16 build, but then I would be missing out on some features such as the ability to get cover art from thetvdb automatically.
Please do correct and or fill in on me if anything of the above sounds bogus.
I hope the team will be able to get this intel video driver issue solved soon. If the issue is indeed in Intels code, then I can understand that this kind of situation is frustrating for everybody involved.

I will try that version.

Synology 1.16 Here

Synology Package Center has v1.16.5.1552.

Hopefully the PMS team is cooking up a really lovely update that fixes this issue. It has been a little over 30 days since their last meaningful release, so that could be a good sign.

can anyone upload the qnap file again for the working version?
it says file not found

Thanks, sorry for my ignorance, I suspect to downgrade is uninstall the app from app store and install it again and the settings will remain?
