How do you add write privileges to delete the file from the folder in @appstore? Couldn’t do it through admit account, sorry not really familiar with linux.
The “sudo” must grant you the correct privileges as long as you’re using the an administrator account when you connect to the terminal.
Why are people deleting the driver? I just renamed it, assuming I might have issues with the old driver too.
This is not fixed in PUBLIC 1.18.2.2041 released yesterday.
DS918+ here.
Rename is the smart thing to do.
I have the same problem with PMS 1.18.2.2015 on a Synology DS918+
Same issue here. Synology DS918+. I used the workaround for now. Hopefully it will be fixed soon.
Anxiously awaiting a release with the fix/workaround included. Luckily I’m on an old build that doesn’t auto-update, but this is forcing me to miss some of the other new Plex updates. I keep coming back to here after every update alert in the UI to see if the update is going to break my setup.
Please plex admins, encourage the dev team to build this into a release.
It has now been six release even today’s fail PlexMediaServer-1.18.2.2058-e67a4e892-x86_64
Still nothing, huh? Well, guess that’s yet another click on “skip this version”. Bummer.
I was so happy to finally take a Plex Pass lifetime until I played few videos and have the same issue.
I thought the issue came from the last server version 1.12.2.2058 but as I see here it’s not.
So 4 releases and nothing change ? Why ?
Well, after rename the new driver “iHD_drv_video.so” and restart Plex, videos works !
I have been a long time life member and I have switch to life EMBY
I also have a DS918+. As previously mentioned by @bilbotorm, build
PlexMediaServer-1.18.2.2058-e67a4e892-x86_64.spk has similar problems.
Hey !
I got the same problèms than you (Problems with subtitles Android TV/ Android mobile - #12 by FordGuy61)
I follow this toppic with many interrest, i got DS918+ too
Just want to stress that the issue is not only specific to Synology DS918+ but anyone like me who uses NUC with J3455 processor, are also having issues. Whilst the work around was related to DS918+ no one has confirmed what the workaround would be for NUC with Ubuntu 18.04 such as myself? I am also deaf, and reliant on subtitling - this is a poor support and probably discriminating as Plex support are issuing new updates but not solving this URGENT issue? Regular update from PLEX Support would help!
Hey guys!
Here are some test builds that should resolve this issue for anyone running PMS on a system with an Apollo Lake processor.
Please report back and let me know if this goes
Hey,
thanks alot for the ongoing work with this issue!
I would love to try out the “Synology 64-bit Intel” build, but is it possible to move from this build to a newer stable release afterwards, in case it’s not working as expected?
Or can I safely roll back to my previous build without having too much of a hassle?
Currently running: DS418play (Intel Celeron J3355 -> Apollo Lake)
Greetings
You can safely downgrade to the previous build, or install a later build over the top of this build.
Thanks for the fast response, but after upgrading to your new build I don’t want to go back anymore it works just fine!
Tested with a few different files and subs (.ass and .pgs).
1080p, 720p, 480p. (Source 1080p)
(DS418 Play - Intel J3355)
So I’ll stay with this build and see if anything comes up
Thank you so much!
Greetings
