Having major issues installing new Plex Server - Please Help!

Server Version#: 1.15.5.994

Hi all,

I’ve recently built a new server and tried to move my old server data to the new hardware - which failed. Instead, I’ve just tried creating a whole new server from scratch - only thing I lose is my history, which isn’t that big of a deal to me.

Anyway, having some fairly major issues on something I’ve done countless times and cannot for the life of me figure out what’s going wrong. These issues are:

  1. Remote Access keeps disabling. I have changed the IP address of my new server to be exactly the same as my old one - so my firewall rules work fine. I have manually specified my public port number and when I click “Retry” it connects fine, I get a green tick next to Remote Access and then it states “Fully accessible outside your network”. This remains for about 5-10 seconds before it automatically switches back to “Not available outside your network”. No idea what’s causing it.

  2. I add my media libraries, and all I get back is a continuous loading loop with the statement “Unexpected error loading this library”. I have uninstalled (including deleting all files and registry keys) and reinstalled the entire server twice and the problem remains. The first time I build the server, I had the first issue but not the second. Since then, it’s been both issues constantly.

I cannot figure out what the issue is.

Best,

Don’t worry about your french. I’ve heard worse, but seriously?

It’s even more odd. When I access the Plex.tv website and “launch” it, it’s absolutely fine. TV Series appear without issue. When I access it from my phones app via either my WiFi or my Telco, it can’t find the server. When I access it directly via a webpage on localhost, it’s fine. I mean, what the hell is going on here?!

The big issue seems to be remote access.

But remote access is billy basics. It’s the entire point of Plex.
