Server Version#: 4.122.0
Tuner Make/Model: HD Homerun EXTEND
I was looking over my DVR setup the other day and found that, while my DVR was set up and working, the back end said it was having trouble finding my HD homerun but I was successfully able to DVR the Lions horrific loss yesterday without issue. I deleted the tuner out of my console and tried to find it again but now I can’t get it to detect. My plex server is running on a windows host. I have disabled the firewall and the HDhomerun will not detect, it is however reachable via browser and by roku and other devices on my network.
Good question - when I attempt to do so this happens - I enter the IP in the blank and click connect then the blank disappears, and nothing happens. The little circle icon just keeps spinning.
I assume nothing has changed on your network recently either? I don’t have the HD Homerun EXTEND, I have 2 HDHR Primes and have no issues with them. I guess I haven’t removed them recently, do you have the latest firmware on them?
Also what’s your PLEX server version? Latest looks like it’s 1.32.8.7639
Hopefully someone else can help you, I don’t seem to have any issues with my Primes. I do not see any error messages with mine. The last thing I can think of would be if your plex pass expired… because I don’t think the DVR stuff works without it.
I found the issue: Currently my server runs Plex through FireDaemon as a transparent windows process. Apparently this impacts Plex’s ability to detect tuners over the network.
After stopping the Plex service through FireDaemon and then starting it manually in Windows, the tuner was detected right away. Now I just need to figure out what it is about running a service via FireDaemon affects impacts Plex from the network.
