HDR content buffering on Chromecast with Google TV

Any 4K HDR content that I try to direct play on my Chromecast with Google TV (CWGTV) causes continuous buffering. After about 10 seconds the video stops (can’t play content).

I’ve tried to disable HDR tone mapping on the server side, no change.

My CWGTV is set to SDR since my projector doesn’t handle properly HDR but if I set the to HDR the buffering is gone.

It seems that the Plex app for CWGTV has issues with tone mapping (I suppose it is done by the client), but there is no setting to experiment.

The same content plays without any issue on another HDR TV as well as other SDR players.

Any idea?
